Our vision is to create a youth-centered organization where coaches and staff are committed to developing both the athletic skills and the mental resilience of every athlete. We strive to instill integrity, build strong character, and promote lifelong friendships in a supportive and affirming environment—helping every young person grow with confidence, purpose, and a sense of belonging.
Our Mission
Maricopa Youth Football and Cheer is a family-driven, all-volunteer organization that emphasizes academics, athletics, and personal growth, rooted in Christian values.
Our mission is to inspire youth to maintain a positive outlook on life and treat others with respect and kindness. We encourage our athletes to honor their commitments, face challenges with courage, and find fulfillment through personal achievement.
Through a focus on mental, physical, and spiritual development, we aim to help young people believe in themselves, rise above adversity, and grow stronger through life’s challenges. We empower them to take healthy risks, build resilience, and pursue victory—on and off the field.
Our Story
The Maricopa Pumas organization was born out of friendship—a deep, unbreakable brotherhood.
In the spring of 2022, seven young flag football players made a decision that would shape their future: they didn’t want their season—or the bond they had built—to end. Driven by their love for the game and their loyalty to one another, they formed what became the 10U Maricopa Pumas football team. With the unwavering support of their head coach and three devoted football moms, the foundation of this organization was laid.
What began as a single team has since grown into a thriving program with four football divisions and four cheer squads—built on unity, faith, and family.
Today, the spirit of that original brotherhood lives on. Our athletes compete with heart, support one another like family, and proudly wear Proverbs 17:17:
"A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity."
